How Landed works

Changelog

What changed on Landed and when, newest first. Figures that were wrong are listed here when they are corrected.

  1. Landing Check

The upfront move cost in the Landing Check now uses the same rules as the first-month cash calculator: the first of four rent cheques, the security deposit, the agency fee with VAT, tenancy registration and the utility deposit, in place of a deposit plus three months' rent in advance. Emirates ID and medical tests are counted for family members only, because the employer pays for the main visa holder. The Move Plan's setup cost uses the same rules.

  2. Tools

The homepage calculator, the salary comparator, the salary benchmarks page and the Landing Check now take the UAE salary from one table by role, so the same person gets the same range in each. Pick your role to use its benchmark; when no benchmark matches, the range assumes a 15% uplift on your UK salary and says so. Each benchmark shows its source, or "not yet verified".

  3. Tools

Removed more claims with no source. Jobs board notes now say what each company does, with no rankings or valuations. Salary benchmarks and the Package Decoder no longer quote a housing allowance percentage or a 40 to 60% package uplift. The Move Plan quotes only costs from the first-month cash calculator's sources, drops the Golden Visa fee and shipping, pet and flight prices, and the property guide gives the Abu Dhabi utility deposit as AED 1,000. The Emirates NBD provider page has a new address; the old link redirects.

  4. Tools

The setup cost calculator is now a first-month cash calculator for Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It counts only the first rent cheque in month one and shows the post-dated cheques separately, works out the deposit, agency fee and utility deposit from your rent and home, and gives every line its source and checked date or labels it a planning estimate. A worked example sits under the calculator.

  5. Tools

Removed claims with no source: that UAE banks open accounts before you arrive (the Move Plan now schedules your bank account for your first week), rent figures in the Move Plan, hiring-volume notes on the jobs board and the housing allowance percentage on salary benchmarks. The Career Sprint link is hidden while it is off sale.

  6. Site

New pages: how it works, how Landed makes money, this changelog and two sample reports. Each tool now names the source and checked date of its figures, or says they are not yet sourced.

  7. Landing Check

School fee planning figures corrected after a check of their sources: Abu Dhabi budget and premium ranges, and Dubai budget ranges rebuilt from named schools' year-group fees. Each corrected figure lists its sources. The uniform and books line is now labelled as all back-to-school extras.

  8. Site

"Beta" and "preview" wording removed, and tool, guide and school counts now come from the site's own lists. The salary comparator shows its 1.15 times starting salary as an assumption you can change.

  9. School finder

Curricula for Hartland International and North London Collegiate corrected from KHDA's records, and Kings' School Al Barsha's top fee updated from KHDA's fee table. A banking guide paragraph without a source was removed.

  10. School finder

Four Abu Dhabi schools whose inspection grade could not be confirmed now show "Rating not confirmed" with no grade.

  11. School finder

Each inspection rating names its KHDA or ADEK source and year. Three Dubai ratings corrected to Very Good. Descriptions keep to curriculum, year groups, fees, rating and location.

  12. School finder

The last two schools without a dated fee source now show sourced fee ranges.

  13. School finder

Year groups, curricula and campuses corrected for five schools, and unsourced ranking claims removed.

  14. Guides

Three guides now quote the same school fee ranges as the Landing Check. Each school in the finder shows where its fees come from.

  15. Tools

Every school fee figure on the site now comes from one table, so the tools no longer disagree.

  16. Landing Check

School fees are costed per child from their year group and the school tier you pick, replacing a flat AED 5,000 a month per child.

  17. Landing Check

The verdict (Go, Go with conditions, Hold) is set by a fixed rule from your odds score and the money, so the early read and the saved report always match.

  18. Landing Check

The notice period box starts empty, so typing a number no longer adds to a pre-filled 4.

  19. Guides

Topics outside Landed's scope removed from the guides and cost data. Old tester access links now open the tools list.

  20. Landing Check

The written report can only quote figures Landed supplies. Rent and school costs come from Landed's tables, and every number is checked before the report is shown.

  21. Site

Paused services take a register-your-interest form instead. The Move Plan says it is generated automatically. Retired products no longer appear.

  22. Landing Check

Reports point to the free Move Plan while the Career Sprint is off sale.

  23. Site

Each page now shares on LinkedIn, WhatsApp and X with its own title and description.

  24. Site

Calls, Concierge and the Golden Visa Path paused. The Move Plan is shown and emailed as soon as it is generated.

  25. Privacy

Analytics no longer uses cookies or browser storage to follow visitors.

  26. Site

Claims about a team and its backgrounds removed. The site no longer leads with "tax-free" and shows the costs beside the salary.

  27. Landing Check

Form and report redesigned: the report reads in five chapters, starting with the verdict.

  28. Tools

UK tax above £100,000 corrected to HMRC's 2026/27 bands. The pound to dirham rate is dated and shown wherever money is converted. Golden Visa salary guidance corrected.

  29. Privacy

The privacy page names every outside service that handles your data. Tools that cost money to run have an hourly limit per visitor.
