Dubaimid

Dubai Internet City (TECOM)

Often called just DIC.

Dubai's original tech hub. Microsoft, Meta, Google, Oracle regional HQs are here.

Dubai Internet City is the tech-specific freezone operated by TECOM, clustered around the Al Sufouh Road corridor. Regional HQs of Microsoft, Meta, Google, Oracle, Dell, Cisco — and a dense ecosystem of tech SMBs. If your work is purely tech and you value being physically close to the other tech companies, DIC has that density no other freezone can match.

Licence categories are activity-specific (software development, IT consulting, content publishing, etc.), which can make DIC less flexible for businesses that straddle multiple activities. Cost is mid-tier — cheaper than DIFC but pricier than DMCC. Part of the broader TECOM cluster that includes Dubai Media City and Dubai Design District (you can have one licence spanning them).

Best for
  • Pure tech / software companies
  • Anyone valuing proximity to Big Tech regional offices
  • TECOM ecosystem synergies (hiring, PR, tech events)
Things to consider
  • Activity categories are narrower than DMCC — check yours is listed
  • Office requirement adds real cost above headline licence price
